The Jumanji 4 cast returns for another zany take on the titular game. In 2017, Sony Pictures released Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, a sequel/soft-reboot to the classic Robin Williams movie Jumanji, Similar to the first film, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle saw several teenagers sucked into a video game version of Jumanji, where they were forced to play the game if they wanted to escape; however, there was a new twist. If they died in the game three times, they would die in real life.
After it ended up being a commercial success, grossing over $962 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo), the cast returned for Jumanji: The Next Level – which also achieved box-office success, grossing over $801 million (via Box Office Mojo). Unsurprisingly, the producers quickly began planning for a fourth installation in the Jumanji series. Details for Jumanji 4 remain under a tight lid; however, cast members from Welcome To The Jungle and The Next Level are expected to return for the movie.
Dwayne Johnson As Dr. “Smolder” Bravestone
In Welcome To The Jungle,The Next Level, and Jumani 4, Dwayne Johnson acts as Dr. “Smolder” Bravestone, a playable character in the Jumanji video game who is known for his fearlessness and smoldering intensity. Dwayne Johnson is a famous actor with six Kids’ Choice Awards under his belt. He made his breakout as a wrestler known as “The Rock” in WWF and the WWE.
Like many of his Jumanji 4 cast members, Johnson has an impressive film and TV career. He played Spencer Strasmore in The TV series Ballers and Seven Bucks Digital Studios. In films, he’s played memorable characters including, Hobbs in The Fast And The Furious franchise, Teth Adam (aka Black Adam) in Black Adam, Mathayus in The Scorpion King and The Mummy Returns, and John Hartley in Red Notice. He also voiced Maui in Moana and Krypto in Super Pets.
Jack Black as Professor “Shelly” Oberon
Returning for Jumanji 4, Jack Black acts as Professor “Shelly” Oberon, a playable character in the Jumanji video game known for his cartography skills and intellect. Black made his breakout in Hollywood as Barry Judd in the 2000 movie High Fidelity. Building on his success, Jack Black famously played Nacho in Nacho Libre, Dewey Finn in School of Rock, and Miles in The Holiday.
Before joining The Super Mario Bros. cast to voice Bowser, he also brought life to the character, Po, in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. In addition to his work in films, he has appeared in one-off roles in several popular TV shows including Community, The Office, Will & Grace, Documentary Now!, and The Mandalorian.
Kevin Hart as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar
In the Jumanji 4 cast, Kevin Hart acts as Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, a playable character in the Jumanji video game, who is known for his zoology expertise. Kevin Hart started as a comedian and broke into the acting business by performing a parody version of himself in The Big House TV show. He went on to parody himself again in This Is The Big House. Hart also acted as Ben Bamber in Ride Along, Jimmy Callahan in The Wedding Ringer, and Calvin Joyner in Central Intelligence. As of June 2023, Hart is also still performing live comedy shows around the country.
Karen Gillian as Ruby Roundhouse
In Welcome To The Jungle, Next Level, and Jumanji 4, Karen Gillian acts as Ruby Roundhouse, a playable character in the Jumanji video game known for her hand-to-hand combat abilities and nunchuck skills. Gillian first broke into the acting business with her role as Amy Pond, the companion to Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor, in the BBC’s Doctor Who before playing Eliza Dooley in the TV show Selfie. On film, Gillian’s acted as Sam in Gunpowder Milkshake, Jane Lockhart in Not Another Happy Ending, and Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
