Actor Eva Mendes has written her debut picture book Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries, which will be released by Feiwel and Friends, an imprint of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group.
Illustrated by Abbey Bryant, Mendes’s picture book follows a mother and daughter’s journey to bedtime. Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries will be released on September 17, and will be published simultaneously in Spanish, in addition to e-book and audio formats.
Mendes has starred in a variety of films ranging from rom-coms to action movies, including Hitch, Training Day, and The Place Beyond the Pines, which also features her husband, actor Ryan Gosling. Her picture book draws inspiration from her real-life family with Gosling and their two children.
“Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries is a love letter to my kids and yours,” Mendes said in a statement. “At my home and in Desi’s, we try to deal with the never-ending worries and anxieties that we all have, so those negative thoughts don’t take over and dominate.”
