Most airlines don’t usually allow dogs on planes because they worry that animals can be disruptive and create problems for other passengers. But the situation is different for the three little canines in our story today. They’re rescue dogs, and they travel with Mexican Red Cross researchers to their work destination.
In February, passengers aboard a flight were pleasantly surprised to find three well-behaved dogs seated alongside them.
The dogs immediately captured everyone’s attention and even became the focus of an internet-famous photo. While it wasn’t specified where they directed their attention, people assumed they were listening to the pre-flight safety demonstration by the flight attendant.
“Today, I was traveling next to 3 Red Cross search and rescue dogs!”
One passenger, Darwin Franco Migues, shared his excitement on Twitter, noting that he had the privilege of traveling next to three remarkable Red Cross search and rescue dogs.
He wrote: “Today, I was traveling next to 3 Red Cross search and rescue dogs!”
The dogs’ good behavior during the flight even impressed the flight attendants.
They considered them to be the most obedient passengers they’d ever had. The dogs’ names were “Rex,” “Balam,” and “Orly,” and they were trained search and rescue dogs from the Mexican Red Cross. These expert canines provide invaluable support in disaster areas after earthquakes, aiding in the rescue of trapped individuals.
“They are the furry friends who were working in the #TalentLand2023” an internet user provided more information about these three dogs.
“Can I sit among them?”
“Their photo melted many hearts.”
“Are you waiting for the plane meal? Hahahaha!”
“Hug in the air!”
“Look at their expression. The flight attendant must be preparing their meal.”
“I’m so lucky to meet search and rescue dogs by chance when I flew, so the time waiting during the flight is not boring at all!” Darwin expressed his gratitude for the unique encounter.
